A property east of the Golden Glades highway interchange in northern Miami-Dade County could be developed with 440 apartments.
The Beacon Square Revocable Property Trust filed a pre-application with county officials for the vacant site of 8.2 acres at the northeast corner of Northwest 159th Street and Northwest First Avenue. Developers file pre-applications to receive feedback from county staff before submitting official applications.
The site is under contract to Fort Lauderdale-based Stellar Communities.
Stellar Golden Glades would have four towers of eight stories each, plus a 4,585-square-foot clubhouse, 3,211 square feet of retail, a ground-level pool, and 775 parking spaces.
It would have 347,904 square feet of leasable residential space. That would break down to 128 units with one bedroom, 224 units with two bedrooms, and 88 units with three bedrooms.
The application said Stellar Golden Glades would dedicate 20% of its units to workforce housing.
Attorney Pedro Gassant, who represents the developer in the application, couldn’t be reached for comment. Dorsky + Yue International Architecture designed the project.
Stellar Communities is currently building an apartment complex in Dania Beach. The company often builds using LEED-certified green principals.
